Job Description
This is an opportunity to join a leading integrated furniture and workplace design company, where you will play a key role in delivering innovative and sustainable projects for prominent organizations. As a Junior Workplace Designer, you'll become an integral part of a team of experts dedicated to pushing the boundaries of design and creating exceptional work experiences. Working from the design studio in Clerkenwell, you'll have the chance to engage with clients, collaborate with senior project account managers, and leverage insights and research from global R&D resources.
In this role, you will contribute to client opportunities by developing design responses and supporting proposals, preparing creative interior concepts, space plans, 3D visuals, and mood boards. You will also be responsible for producing technical packages, sourcing products, and assisting the Design, Marketing & Sales team. Proactively seeking opportunities for the Design team to add value and supporting the company's ESG roadmap are crucial aspects of the role.
The ideal candidate will possess a 2:1 degree or better in Interior, Furniture, or Product Design, with up to one year of industry experience being advantageous. You should have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to meet deadlines. A passion for creating impact through design, an interest in sustainability, and awareness of the workplace industry are highly desirable. Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Microsoft Office is essential, and knowledge of AutoCAD, Sketchup, and pCon would be beneficial.
Requirements
- A 2:1 degree or better, ideally in Interior, Furniture or Product Design. Subject to the calibre of the applicant, either a Graduate or/up to 1 year of industry experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, a positive, can-do attitude and ability to meet deadlines.
- A brand ambassador that who can provide great customer service to internal and external customers
- Curious to learn and are invested in creating impact by design, an interest in sustainability with an awareness of the workplace industry would be advantageous.
- Good interpersonal & presentation skills.
- An advanced user of Adobe Photoshop, Indesign and Microsoft Office. Also, any knowledge of AutoCAD, Sketchup, pCon would be advantageous.
- Support client opportunities, develop design responses & supporting proposals/project content.
- Preparing and develop with the team or individually where required creative interior concepts, drawings/ space plans, 3d visuals, images, materials & mood boards and other documents relating to the design.
- Produce technical packages and/or create mark-ups for production of tech drawings.
- Sourcing products from leading brands, vetting and appraising their suitability per project. Supporting a furniture consultancy approach & liaising with a clients professional team. Applying an environmental vetting approach where applicable.
- Assisting our Design, Marketing & Sales team.
- Proactively look for opportunities for the Design team to add value and grow our remit in the organization.
- Supporting IE advancing ESG roadmap & business strategies.
